To revive the local forest, we plant Cedrela mexicana trees alongside local species. Cedrela trees have natural resistance to parasites, worms, and wood-boring insects. It takes 15 to 20 years to harvest them. The wood is suitable for moderate construction, decoration, furniture, roofing, doors, window frames, and fencing.

The Cedrela mexicana species is utilized for complex engineering projects including boat building, particularly racing boats. The trees have low nutrient requirements from the soil. Their flowers are a rich source of nectar for honey bees and can serve as a light source of shade for coffee and cocoa shrubs.
